Recipe: Chicken pie

Cheats chicken pie 

An easy and quick version of chicken pie, perfect for the winter months coming.


Ingredients:
- bowl of ready cooked chicken (250g)
- bowl of frozen mixed vegetables (200g)
- ready rolled puffed or shortcrust pastry (250g)
- 1tsp butter
- 3 onions
- 1 garlic clove
- pack of button mushrooms (100g)
- 3tbsp flour
- 400ml milk
- a stock cube
- 1 egg, beaten

Method:
1) Pre heat the oven to 200 degrees celcius.
2) Heat some oil in a pan and fry the onions, garlic and mushrooms until soft. Add the butter.
3) Add the flour to this.
4) Add the milk and stock cube to the pan.
5) Defrost the vegetables in the microwave.
6) Add the vegetables and chicken to the mixture. Season the mix with salt and pepper.
7) Empty the mixture into a tray.
8) Add the ready rolled pastry on top.
9) Brush the egg over the pastry.
10) Put the pie in the oven for 25 minutes.
Serve with mash, vegetables and gravy.
