Recipe: Poached egg

The perfect poached egg

These days my instagram feed is just filled with pictures of poached eggs- here's how I make mine.

1) Put some water on the boil and get a wide mug or a small bowl.
2) Line this with cling film.
3) Lightly oil the cling film or the egg will stick to it.
4) Crack the egg into the cling film.
5) Wrap the cling film around the egg and twist the top so that it is sealed. Make sure that there is little air in the cling film before you seal it.
6) Place the egg the boiling water on medium/ high heat. Leave for 5/6 minutes.
7) Take the egg out of the pan and immediately run in a little cold water to stop the egg from cooking.
8) Chop the clingfilm off with scissors and unwrap the egg.
I served mine with asparagus, so boiled the asparagus in water for 5-7 minutes.
